Another update

Today Kyson went back to surgery to get the band around his pulmonary artery tightened. They wired his sternum shut and stiched him up. I am so happy to get that overwith! He seems to be doing very well and if he continues to progress as he has, they will begin to decrease a lot of his medications and slowly take him off the ventilator. The nurse said today that hopefully I can have him in my arms in two days. I'm looking forward to that moment. It makes me cry just to think about it.
I know I have said it over and over but we feel so blessed. Thank you everyone! I don't know how to thank you all enough. Just know that I appreciate all that has been done for us more than words can say.

That's so great to hear!!! I'm excited for you to be able to hold Kyson again! Sharla wants to come and visit you, so if there's a good time that's better than another, let her or I know!

I am so glad that he is done with surgery for the time being and his little body and heart can begin to heal. Equally happy that you will get to snuggle him soon.

wow, your little guy is amazing! what a fighter! i couldn't imagine having to see my kids like that with all those wires and tubes everywhere! i'm so glad you have so much support and please let me know if there's anything i can do or help you with. after thinking about our conversation on sunday about kyson and what you were telling me about his sleep and eating habits and stuff, and now knowing that he had a heart condition, all those things you were telling me make sense to what was going on in his body. a mother's intuition is an amazing thing! i'm glad you were able to get him checked out when you did. we will continue to pray for kyson and your family. take care andrea!

That is great news! It is really nice to read your blog every day and get updates on Kyson. Our family loves your family so much and we can hardly wait to see the Gunnell at church again with two sweet little boys. Congrats on the success of his surgery and hands down to you and Jared for being incredible parents through all of this. Your family is amazing!
