Special Day

Sunday was a very special day for our family. We blessed Kyson that day and it was such a neat experience. In the circle we were very blessed to have all four of Kyson's great grandfathers as well as both of his grandfathers and quite a few uncles. It was really special to have each of them there. Afterwards we were able to get pictures of all of the great grandparents. We will definitely cherish those pictures and I am so grateful to have them. My sister-in-law, Heather, and friend Karli, took the pictures for us so I don't have any of them yet. When I get them I will definitely post a few of them.
For now here are a few of the ones we took at home on our own.

Good weather

I love when the weather is nice enough to do things outside! In the last few weeks we have gone to the zoo twice, bike riding twice, on many walks, and to the park a few times. I have loved it! Caleb and Kyson both enjoy being outdoors so it is great to get out of the house and have fun with family and friends!

Caleb and Garrett having fun at the zoo. (This is the new stroller my Mom and Sisters got for me and I LOVE it!!!)

They have a brand new exhibit at the Phoenix zoo where you can get really close to see the elephants. I thought it was pretty cool!

This is Caleb all ready to go on a bike ride.

Whenever we are outside Caleb loves to point out any airplanes or birds that he sees.

My first smile!

As parents one of our greatest desires is for our children to be happy. It is so hard to see Kyson so sad all of the time. He sleeps quite a bit but when he is awake he is usually crying. It just makes me feel so bad and I want to be able to make him happy.

Last Friday morning I was holding him and talking to him. He was awake and happy for a little while and I was just enjoying that time with him. I couldn't believe it when all of the sudden his face lit up and he gave me his first real smile! I was so excited to see that smile. I have only seen a couple more smiles since then but each one is blessing to me.

Isn't he such a beautiful baby?

We might not have it all together but together we have it all!

Recently I found this quote and I have been thinking about it ever since. I feel like it applies to my life in so many ways right now. I have had many moments of feeling very overwhelmed since Kyson was born and its true that I don't feel like I have it "all together." It seems like I can't go anywhere without someone making the comment, "Wow, you've got your hands full!" All I can say is "yes, I sure do!" I have also had a hard time keeping my house clean and I feel like as soon as I get one room clean, another room is a mess again! The evenings get especially hard as Kyson is quite fussy and I end up having both Caleb and Kyson crying and needing me at the same time as I am trying to make dinner. It can be quite challenging!

Now considering all of this, I truly do feel so blessed to have such a wonderful husband and two beautiful little boys. Each of them mean so much to me and I love them more then I ever thought possible.

Jared really is wonderful. He is working so hard to have a full time job while going to school yet he still comes home and finds the time to help me out. He is very helpful with Caleb and Caleb loves his Daddy very much!

Caleb is growing up so fast. He has the most adorable laugh that is absolutely contagious! He is very helpful and he is a good listener. He definitely has a shy side and doesn't like to be around a lot of people. He loves music and I often find him dancing or leading a song that he hears. He also loves to go to the park to play and never gets tired of going down the slide. He makes me smile every day and I am so grateful for him.

Kyson turned one month old on Monday. He is such a beautiful baby and I think he looks just like his Dad. In fact I think Kyson is a carbon copy of Jared just stuck in a tiny body. I'm excited to see how his features change as he grows up. He doesn't have very many moments of being both awake and happy but I cherish the moments that he is! I especially love his eyes and enjoy looking into them when he is awake. I feel so lucky to be able to hold him, love him, and take care of him.

When I think about all of these things I feel truly blessed. I love my family and with them I really do have it ALL!!!

The Biggest Fish...

Jared went fishing this weekend with his friend Jared Tompkinson at Chevlon lake up on the rim. They had such a good time and I'm so glad he got to go. Every time Jared has gone fishing I wish him luck on either catching the most fish or the biggest fish. Well, he finally did it. He caught THE BIGGEST FISH! He was so excited and very proud of this fish. I was just like yeah, yeah, that's really cool...until I saw the pictures. That really is a BIG fish and it is pretty too. This first picture is him reeling in the fish. Doesn't his face just say it all?

The proud fisherman and his Big Daddy fish

I'm just wondering one thing...why didn't you keep it Jared?

Pictures

I just thought I would post a few pictures of Kyson. I just can't imagine life without him anymore. He is so precious and I love him very much! He will be three weeks old tomorrow!

12 days old!
19 days old!

To my Mom and Sisters...

How can I thank my Mom and my sisters enough? They have helped me out so much with having a new baby.
To begin I have to say thank you to my Mom who came and stayed at our house and took care of Caleb while we were in the hospital. It was comforting to know that Caleb was being well taken care of and I didn't need to worry about him at all. She even stayed and took care of all of us once we got home by making us meals and helping out with everything. My Mom is wonderful!
Next is my sister Jamie. She is SO thoughtful! Before Kyson was even born she came and made us dinner so I could relax. Then after he was born she came and took Caleb for an afternoon so I could get some much needed sleep. That was a HUGE help. Thank you for being so thoughtful Jamie!!!
My sister Natalie also has helped out a ton by taking care of Caleb and helping me get out of the house! It has been difficult leaving the house with two kids but having Natalie come along to help out makes it much easier. We have gone to the park a few times and gone shopping. Thank you Natalie, I love spending time with you!
Christy is next. She is amazing. I don't know if there is a more busy person than her yet she still has found the time to call and say hi or stop by. She is going to school full time, working full time, she is the Relief Society President in her singles ward, AND she is dating someone (which we all know takes a lot of time too!). I am grateful for her good example and friendship.

Besides all of this, my Mom and Sisters are getting me a new double stroller! I am so excited. Thank you!

This is a picture of me and my sisters that live here in Mesa with me. We enjoy getting together whenever we can. I feel so blessed to have them close by so we can spend time together. I love you guys!!!
