After a couple of weeks of sick kiddos I just want to say that I am so grateful to be seeing smiles on their faces again! Poor Kyson has had it rough (hasn't he always?). First he had the pukies a couple weeks ago. Then he started teething and ended up with ANOTHER ear infection. The amoxicillin he was taking for his ear infection led to a yeast infection and a HORRIBLE diaper rash. I've never seen a bum so fried! We've been to the doctor three times, had five prescriptions, and called and talked to the nurses many times but I think he is finally on the mend.
Here is a classic picture of Kyson. I think he is a pro at smiling through his tears!
His smile is just too cute!
I told Caleb to go give Kyson a hug and smile for me. Here's the smile I got...Classic!
I laughed and showed Caleb how to smile with his teeth and here's what I got this time. Pretty darn cute if you ask me!
*Two weeks from today was the day we found out about Kyson's heart condition last year. I can honestly say that a day doesn't go by that I don't think about it. I am so grateful to have him in my life. I am willing to deal with the puke, ear infections, and yeast infections because it means I still get to hold him and love him every day and I wouldn't trade that for anything!

On the mend...I hope!

I'm a big kid now!
I believe Caleb is officially potty trained!!! Whoopee! I have been so worried about trying to potty train him but we did it and it wasn't nearly as bad as I'd predicted! I read about this method on babycenter.com and kind of did it my own way.
I'm not quite sure why I feel inclined to include a picture but hey it's proof!
Another exciting thing is we got Kyson a new carseat and now he's forward facing!!! I absolutely LOVE to turn around and see this

Cowboy Up!
I just had to share these pictures I took of Caleb a few nights ago. He was making me laugh so hard I just had to grab the camera. Enjoy!
And of course I had to get some of this cute little man!

Welcome to my life...
This morning my neighbor stopped by to give us some mail that she accidently got in her stuff. I heard the door bell ring and automatically I look around here's what I see:
1. My floor is COVERED in food. (I'll explain in a minute)
2. The boys room is a disaster and covered in clothes.
3. Caleb's books and train tracks are all over the living room.
4. Caleb's running around with only a shirt on. Yes, that includes NO diaper.
and last but not least...
5. I'm still in my pj's, hair and make-up a mess, and feeling gross.
I think to myself..."can I just pretend I'm not home?" Of course that would be rude since she can definitely hear my children playing, so I open the door (no way was I going to invite her in to this craziness) and we visit for a minute. I shut the door and feel so embarrased. There really are reasons for each of the things I listed above. Let me explain.
1. My floor is COVERED in food.
Kyson has decided food is for the birds. If I put food on his tray he takes one maybe two bites and the rest he throws on the ground. Some he just drops over the side and some he literally chucks as far as he can throw. I try to sweep the floor after every meal but I hadn't swept up his breakfast yet. If I try to feed him myself with a spoon he won't open his mouth. Yes we have had many stubborn wars and he always wins. I'm literally going crazy. I just don't know what to do. The only nutrition he is getting is a drink called Pediasure. I'm still nursing him at night when he wakes up but he isn't interested during the day anymore. He just looks at me...smiles...and bites down. THIS HURTS LIKE CRAZY!!! He was doing really well with food but the last couple of weeks he has digressed to almost eating nothing. Needless to say if he doesn't do any better I plan on calling his doctor on Monday and maybe we'll see a speech therapist.
2. The boys room is a disaster and covered in clothes. This morning I got amibitious and decided to go through all of the boys clothes and put away everything they've grown out of. It was quite the project since I've been neglecting this job for a while. So, while their room was covered in clothes, it really was an organized mess. Now I am happy to look in their closets and see them looking so much better! (on a side note this was a little sad because I put away everything under 12 months. Kyson is growing up...he's almost not my baby anymore!)
3. Caleb's books and trains are all over the living room. While I was going through the clothes Caleb kept messing up my piles. I ended up getting out his trains and a few other toys for him to play with in the living room until I finished. Thus, the mess in that room too.
4. Caleb's running around with only a shirt on. Yes, that includes NO diaper. First let me say, don't judge me please...I'm trying to potty train the kid and this is the only thing that is working. If he has a diaper or underwear on he doesn't tell me he needs to go. Oh, and I didn't get this idea on my own...I read about it on babycenter.com. My first reaction to this idea was, that sounds crazy, but it seems to be working so I'm going with it for now.
5. I'm still in my pj's, hair and make-up a mess, and feeling gross.
I often wait until I put the boys down for a nap to take my shower. Otherwise Caleb is running in and out of the bathroom pulling back the shower curtain and driving me crazy. If I lock him out I'm always worried about what he's doing to Kyson. (Sometimes he likes to sit on his head) I don't know when other people shower who have toddlers!
To my neighbor: If you would like to stop by, now would be a great time. My boys are sleeping and I've taken a shower. The living room and bedrooms are much cleaner and I would feel comfortable inviting you in for a little visit. I guess I'll just have to be a better neighbor and invite you over for dinner sometime so we can actually get to know each other better rather then the random times we say hi in passing. I appreciate you bringing me my mail and in the future I hope I can be a better neighbor.

Kisses please!
This picture totally cracks me up! Jared will especially appreciate this picture because this is what he gets whenever he leaves for work in the morning. He always gives me a kiss goodbye and then Caleb thinks he needs one too. Most of the time we are just finishing breakfast as Jared is leaving so Caleb usually has food all over his face. It is actually quite hilarious to watch.
This is a picture of his smirk...ha ha I just got what I wanted!!!
Anyone for some cheese???
An awesome video
Today I have been thinking quite a bit about General Conference which is coming up this weekend. This was my favorite talk last conference (as I have mentioned previously on my blog HERE and I have thought of it many times in my daily life. I am looking forward to listening to conference again. What a blessing it is!
